User Views
Guide to Managing and Customizing Views
Overview
Dash360’s User Views feature allows you to save customized views of tabular reports for quick access and streamlined reporting. Follow these steps to create, manage, and share your personalized views. This guide explains how to manage these views to enhance your reporting capabilities.
Creating and Managing Views
- Arrange Your View
You'll first need to customize the tabular reports the way that you want by:
• Arranging the columns in the order you prefer.
• Selecting the data you want to display. (Column chooser)
• Adjusting groupings as needed to organize your view.
- Creating a New User View:
Click the orange box with a white arrow, outlined in the green box on the left side of the screen, to open the fly-out menu. This menu provides access to customization options, allowing you to save your adjusted columns, filters, and groupings for the report view
- Saving Your View:
After arranging the report to your liking, save the setup as a new user view. This configuration will appear each time you log into Dash360. Click Create New User View -> View Name -> Save and Close
Remember: While you can set filters to organize how data is displayed, filters are not saved when you create or update views. This means that any filter settings will revert to default once the view is reloaded or if you log out and log back in.
- Set a Default View
To set your user view as the default, you need to use the gear (circle wheel) icon to make the selection. This ensures your customized view will load automatically every time you access the report.
Steps to Make Your User View the Default:
• Click the gear (circle wheel) icon next to your user view.
• Select Make Default View.
- Admin Options for Sharing View
As an admin, you can share user views with all users by converting them into system views.
Steps to Convert a User View to a System View:
• Open the gear (circle wheel) icon for the user view.
• Click Copy to System View to make it accessible to all users.
Steps to Set a Default System View for All Users:
• Select the system view you created.
• Choose Make Default System View to ensure it becomes the default for everyone accessing the report.
Additional Management Options
- Importing and Exporting Views:
While uncommon for most users, you can import user views from .txt files or export them for use in different environments or projects.
- Deleting and Downloading Views:
Manage your workspace by deleting outdated views or downloading data configured to your current view settings for external use.
