How to Create a Resource Assignment
An estimate is composed of one or more resource assignments that are made to the work package with relevant data for pricing, scheduling/ duration, basis of estimate support and contingency. The contingency can be applied at the individual resource assignment level or at the Work Package level.
Entering a Labor, Non-Labor, or Travel Resource Assignment follow the same steps.
Navigate to the Work Package you would like to add an estimate to.
Using the arrows, expand the relevant estimating section.
The estimate section will appear. Select Add Estimate to add your desired estimate.
If you do not see any, or a limited selection of icons, your project may be locked by an Administrator to prevent changes.
Fill in the highlighted fields to create an estimate
- Resource Code The unique code assigned to a resource. Pre-defined and chosen from a dropdown list.
- Basis Code Code that indicates the methodology used to determine the estimate.
- Start Using the calendar, select the desired start date for the resource assignment.
- Finish Using the calendar, select the desired finish date for the resource assignment.
- Resource Assignment Description Short description of resource assignment. *Not required to create Estimate.
After the estimate has been created by filling the fields shown above, a data grid will be generated based upon the data that was entered. Any changes made in the fields shown below will be saved automatically.
When entering a Total, Dash360 can linearly spread that value across the chosen time period.
Any changes made to Schedule, Contingency, or Comments and Documents (shown below) require the user to click one of the Save options to track changes in the fields.
Activity ID - Within the cost estimating form if a schedule already exists you can assign the appropriate activity ID that the resource will be assigned to.
Contingency - Dash 360 will calculate contingency based upon the factors and multipliers chosen by the user
Comments / Assumptions Any additional information regarding the estimate not contained in the fields above
Supporting Documents (File Upload) Dash360 supports uploading external documents
